What is a Chargeback?
Chargeback is a dispute against a particular transaction raised by the cardholder and reported to their card issuing bank. This provision by banks and card networks such as Visa & MasterCard protects buyers from unauthorized or fraudulent payments.

Reasons for Chargebacks:
Chargebacks can occur for various reasons, including unsatisfactory customer service/product, poor service delivery experience, or suspected fraudulent activity on the card.

Importance of Avoiding Chargebacks:
Avoiding chargebacks is crucial because they can harm your business reputation and potentially lead to banks labeling your business as high-risk. Customers have up to 120 days to file a chargeback, during which your sales can be reversed. A high number of chargebacks can also lead to banks holding remittances for your business and, in extreme cases, banning your online payment services.

Chargeback Resolution Process:
Notification: We will notify you by email/telephone about the dispute, mentioning the payment ID and the reason for the chargeback if provided by the bank.

Review:
You should review the chargeback and explain the chain of events that took place. If goods/services have not been provided, please inform us if the customer is willing to accept the goods/services. If goods/services have been provided, share proof of delivery, invoices, or any other authorized proof of product/service delivery. In case of a duplicate payment, notify us so we can ask the bank to refund the amount back to the cardholder.

Documentation:
Provide all required documents to us as per the bank's requirements. We will represent the dispute on your behalf. Banks generally provide a 7-working-day window to represent the chargeback.

Preventing International Chargebacks:
Clearly communicate the terms & conditions of the transaction, ensure the cardholder has authorized the transaction, provide high-quality goods/services that meet the cardholder’s expectations, and respond promptly to customer complaints or disputes.

Resolving International Chargebacks:
Respond promptly to chargeback requests and provide relevant documentation such as proof of delivery, customs clearance copies, proof of customer authorization, and a copy of the transaction terms and conditions. Seek legal assistance if necessary.
